Serum hepatitis antigen (SH) carrier state: relation to ABO blood groups.
In a comparison of 347 chronic carriers of the SH antigen and 8,864 controls with respect to ABO and Rh blood group distribution no significant differences have been detected.
متن کاملABO blood group distribution in serum hepatitis.
A disproportionate excess of blood group O was found in a circumscribed outbreak of serum hepatitis among patients and staff of a haemodialysis unit. The more severe cases were also mostly of group O. This suggests that host factors may be important in the genesis of this disease.
متن کاملAbo Blood Groups in Relation to Duodenal Ulcer
Since Aird, Bentall, Mehigan, and Roberts (1954) convincingly demonstrated a high incidence of blood group 0 in duodenal ulcer subjects there have been a number of confirmatory studies carried out in different ethnic groups and populations (McConnell, 1966). Studies have also been undertaken to see if there is an especially strong association between blood group 0 and some particular category o...
متن کاملLipoprotein types, serum cholesterol, and ABO blood groups.
Among 48 cases with primary hyperlipoproteinaemia (HLP) type II, 27 (56 %) were of blood group A, while among 35 cases with primary HLP type IV, only 11 (31 %) were of this blood group. The difference is large and statistically significant. Since serum cholesterol levels are fairly or very high in HLP type II, it is suggested that the known weak association between blood group A and serum chole...
متن کاملABO blood groups and susceptibility to brucellosis.
The relationship between blood groups and some infections such as norovirus, cholera, and malaria has been reported. Despite the importance of brucellosis, there is a lack of data on the relationship between blood groups and brucellosis. Thus, in this study, we examined the relationship between blood groups and brucellosis. In this case-control study, the blood groups of 100 patients with bruce...
